American Idol Idiots!

What entices someone to check out a blog? How come some bloggers have lots of readers? Do you think that what people write about (when they are describing their lives, daily activities, etc.) the truth or is it all fiction? I think people just want to seem more interesting than they really are. Most people don't have that "it" factor that they describe on American Idol. BTW, have any of you been watching it? All the guys pretty much suck except for the "crooner guy" with the kind of mohawk hair - I think his name is Blake. And the Justin Timberlake guy. No one else really stands out. I will be watching for the girls tonight. Did you see the preview where they are all dancing around. First of all, not so many really attractive ones, except for Antanella, she'll at least get a modeling contract out of this if she can't sing. Then there is one really OBNOXIOUS girl, don't know her name, she dancing around like Flav-A-Flav (and she is caucasian). It is over the top obnoxious!! Paula really needs a stylist and a new "do." I was really hoping the Jack Osborne lookalike did well, he didn't. Anyway, I really am not a huge fan, I usually watch the first episode or two when they have all the really sucky people, it is funny! But, I think I got sucked in this time, now I'm just curious. Thank God for TIVO though, I can't sit through watching Ryan (shortstuff) Seacrest try and act cool. If he can make it to stardom, anyone can. That is all for now.

I don't like American Idol. They are so mean to people.

Yeah, I only watch the first episodes too. I shamelessly enjoy laughing at others' expense, but I couldn't care less about the ones with actual talent. Nice, huh?
As to your topic about what makes certain blogs popular and whether people are always honest in their blogs... well, refer to my newest post, to be written in about two seconds, for more on that.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. The part of Toy Story I cried at was the scene where Buzz Lightyear jumps off the stairs and finally realizes he's a toy and he really can't fly. The music with that is so heartrending and the death of his dream just breaks my heart.

I think I'm the only person in America (beside my husband) whose not seen any of American Idol.

I flipped over to AI last night and was unimpressed. I doubt I'll be watching much of it this year.

BTW... I noticed I didn't answer your blog question. I normally visit people who visit me. Or I read their comment on someone else's blog and they sound interesting, so I'll check them out. Or they are on a blogroll I belong to and I try to spend some time every week or two visiting someone (or two or three) I've never visited from the blogroll. If I enjoy what I read, I'll read some of their past posts. And, even if I don't enjoy them, I'll check them out a time or two to see if I want to keep reading them.
I spend WAY too much time bloghopping... I should be writing... but it's one way to get readers and to get to know other people. I consider it the equivalent of networking :-)

Bloggers who have lots of comments have probably been around for a while. It takes a little bit to build up a following.

I don't usually watch AI until they've narrowed down the talent. I forgot last night and I'll probably watch tonight with my daughter.

I blog because I well, I don't know why..but it's fun. There is not point to my blog sometimes (well most of the time), but I crack myself up on it, I vent when I need to and I journal what I'm doing with my life at the moment. I blog when I'm sad, I blog when I'm crazy (should be locked up crazy) but my readers don't know my address so they can't send the guys in white coats..I say things I would never ever say aloud! I'm very quiet and reserved in person, give me a keyboard and wheeeeeeeee!

American Idol is The Gong Show 2000. The 70s Gong Show was hilarious, the 80s Gong Show was a mistake. American Idol is just plain wrong, but who am I to question popular belief?
