Ok, so......did you ever hear that the best ideas are "stolen" not thought of yourself? Well, here you go. I'm a relatively new blogger and I am copying Manic's contest - well, sort of. Unfortunately, I will not be giving away a prize for the most "profound" comment. I just want to see what you have to say. From what I gather about "blogging," it is a way to say what is on your mind without having to really identify yourself....
So, here are your two options (feel free to answer one or both!)
From my latter blog regarding American Idol......
Who do you idolize? And why??
OR
Who do you envy? And why?
(Go ahead and get it off your chest!)

I can't say I idolize anyone in particular. I idolize God or whatever the entity above us that takes many names is, but humanity to me isn't quite deserving of being an "idol," even those who do good things or are good people.
As for those I envy, I only envy those who can make their lives their own, on their terms, by their rules, without life's worries holding them back.
I idolize my daughter, I think. I love kids in general, but sometimes she is so cute I find myself thinking, "Yes indeed, I really broke the mold with this one." I think idolizing our kids is kind of like idolizing ourselves, though, because we see ourselves in them, so maybe it's a little narcissistic of me.
As to who I envy (or is that "whom"?) I envy myself in twenty years, the me who will look back at this time now and just take pure joy in it without stressing over stupid things like the right-now me does.
There are a ton of people I admire, but none that I idolize.
I don't, as a rule, envy people, either. I could wish I was built like this woman or wealthy like that man or whatever, but that doesn't serve any good purpose.
I'm all about being content with what I have, though not complacent.
So there you have it. :o)
